God Speaks Through People
God Will Speak Through People To Get A Message To You
I've just come home from a fantastic and deeply fulfilling Christian women's retreat. One of the many things that made my trip so special was the willingness the eight of us had to share what we felt the Lord put on our hearts and speak life into each other.
I haven’t been in an environment like this in a while. Totally dedicated time for Jesus to love on us, speak to us, and for us to simply BE with Him….ahhhhh so grand!
And as this group of strangers quickly turned friends, we all poured out our hearts, hopes, and burdens to each other and to God.
The Lord was with us.
And because of the intention to allow God the space and time to speak to us…
and because of our openness and willingness to hear and care for one another…
God spoke to each of us.
I think we all had alone time with the Lord and felt personally encouraged by Him, but I want to tell you about how He used each of us to speak into one another’s lives.
God Spoke Through People To Speak To Me
For me, the Lord used these women in so many ways:
In a conversation with two girls, I was given advice, direction, and encouragement for something I didn’t know how to do but needed to be doing.
This gave me knowledge and instruction.
Several times, women spoke out the goodness they saw in me and pointed out the gifts and anointings the Lord has given me.
This affirmed and encouraged me.
When praying for me, a friend felt a specific word come to them. They described the word and prayed for the Lord to bring it to reality. I’ve thought of it several times since then, and it’s brought me a sense of trust and protection.
This gave me a visual of how God will walk with me this season.
Another woman felt a Scripture on her heart and shared it with all of us. It felt like a message from the Lord to each of us in our circumstances.
This grounded me and gave me something to hold on to and come back to in the Word.
After the trip, one friend left me a voice note with a “blessing” and prayer for me as I returned home. Many of the words she said and the Scripture she felt she should share were exact words I have prayed privately with the Lord.
This made me feel seen and heard by God.
God Used Each Of Us To Speak A Word From Him
Over two and a half days, we shared promptings, wisdom, and insights with and for each other.
When we felt encouragement for someone from the Lord, we’d speak it out:
“You are so precious to God!”
“He sees you and knows what you’ve been through.”
“God has something for you.”
“You are forgiven!”
Every word was God-tailored to each of us.
He spoke to us all, through each other, in a way that we desperately needed.
There was an eagerness in this new group of friends to help and build up the other. We were all actively looking for ways to listen, uplift, and strengthen each other.
Guess who else felt that same urgency and eagerness to comfort, cheer, and embolden us…
God! Yay! It’s God, that’s who!
God Doesn’t Want You To Go It Alone
That gorgeous loyalty and support we offered to one another is only a fraction of what God feels for us.
He wants to build you up. He wants to walk with you, give you a word for the journey, tell you where to step, give you instruction, motivation, and belief.
He wants you to trust Him.
And He communicates that He’s trustworthy to you all the time… I am with you, Child!
God will speak to you when you’re alone. (Yay!)
God will speak to you through others. (Yahoo!)
If you don’t have a group of women to speak over you or pray with you, I’m here for you.
In a Christian Life Coaching session, we go to the Lord, seek His guidance, and see what He wants to say to you.
We listen for Him as He reveals truth through our conversation, brings Scripture to mind, drops images in our hearts, directs us in prayer, and does whatever He needs to do to help you and show you the way.
